i told him my first gear was grinding when i shift into first in a complete stop. he said if i remember correctly "gl5" tranny fluid screws up the tranny, and "gl4 is what 300zx need. the thing is that when i changed out the tranny fluid to redline, that's when it started grinding also. well i'm gonna change to something else. anybody have suggestions or opinions??? also, he said when i change it out, that alone won't fix it. he said this is a trick of the trade, and maybe somebody can confirm what he told me... he said when i change out the fluid, what i need to do is get on the highway and go about sixty, shift to nuetral and force the tranny into first gear!!!! with no clutch just kinda hold it with 2 hands and kinda force it in without completely going in. you don't want to leave your tranny .5 a mile behind you but..... that's what he told me and he said he had already proved it works, not only on his vehicle but on others also. and he said it's a secret... so shhhhhhhhhh!!!!! anywayzzz i tried it already and seems like it worked but i still want to change my tranny fluid, just to be sure. this is the same mechanic that recently did some work on my z.
so what tranny fluid is suggested???
is redline mt-90 "gl5" or "gl4"????
and does his secret work????
